Dear Evolved Teacher, What's your one word?
Jan 02, 2019
Dear Evolved Teacher,
Yep! That's you! Anyone who is dedicated to being a partner or guide to our beautiful children as they navigate this life experience, is an evolved teacher. As you know, the work that you do for yourself is just as vital as the experiences that we want for our children.

Today’s affirmation is
“I keep my eye on the prize of my dreams.”
Dear Evolved Teacher,
When you don’t know where you’re going, distractions look like opportunities.
Today, I would like to invite you to my grand authenticity party.
My journey toward being an educator, much like yours, came with its own twists and turns. In fact, I never expected to ever be an educator although I’ve always had a deep love for people. The thing about loving people is that when you truly meet people as they are, how they are, where they are, you also automatically see the children within them, their fears, and also their ambitions.
Today, as we embark upon this journey of authenticity together, I would love for us to get to know each other by discussing one word that you feel best characterizes us.
So, here’s an invitation to my grand authenticity party! We’re going to start off by getting to know each other!
And I’ll start it off by telling you the word that I feel best sums me up. If I could characterize myself in one word, that word would be...exuberant.
Funny enough, the first time I can clearly remember being referred to as “exuberant” was in a negative way. I published a paragraph writing course on the site “Udemy” and one of the parents wrote something like, “She’s too exuberant! Too much energy.” Too much. Does that resonate with you? Being… “too much?”
What’s interesting is that throughout my life and my calling as an educator, I’ve been referred to as… exuberant, as if it’s a breath of fresh air...but, I don’t remember any of those compliments in detail. I don’t remember exactly who said them or why. Isn’t it interesting how we can give more weight and significance to experiences that hold negative energy? I’ve come to learn to embrace my exuberance...it’s a gift to have the ability to approach life with alacrity and passion.
If there is one word that describes me at my core...it’s exuberant and I know that I am at my best when I have exuberant love, exuberant play, exuberant friendships, exuberant creativity, and exuberant freedom. Today, and every day, my goal is to have an exuberant day, as funny and over the top as that may sound.
Dear Evolved Teacher,
Your mission today is to have a moment of reflection to consider one word that best describes you. How do you feel about that word? Is it a word that you want to embrace or shift through?
That’s it for today! I would love to hear about any Aha moments that you may have had! Tag and hashtag Evolved teacher and let me know.
