We are having a lot of fun today in KidYOUniversity!!!

I feel so ready for my day, my week, my month...and the whole year!!!

Do you know why?

Well, that’s because at kidYOUniversity, we did this super fun activity! We thought of our word for the year!  It was really cool!

My mom does this every year with her friends. I’m excited to do it, too!

Maybe your parent also has a word for 2019! Oooh, you should ask!

Okay, so here’s how it works!

When you choose one word for the year, you think of a word that will help you to have a better year than last year. It should only be one word. Whenever you see that word or hear that word, it will help you remember to do something.

At first, I had a hard time choosing between two words: “friendship” and “Try.”  

Last year, I didn’t have so many friends. I was very quiet at school. But, this year, I want to make more friends! So, if my word is “Friendship,” it will remind me every day to make more friends and spend time with the friends I have. 

But, I’m also thinking about the word, “Try.” “Try” is good for me because I want to be someone who can do lots of different things like my dad and...Beyonce! But, if I want to have many skills, that means I have to try new things, right?

Hmm...so, I had some thinking to do to choose the word for me this year.

I decided that my word for 2019 will be...Try!!! Because when I try new things, that will also help me to make new friends in different places!

I think that’s a great word for me!!

I’m so excited!
