Hey Bestie Hey!!!

It’s me, your Big Bestie!

I am so excited! I’m going to a party today! 

I know it’s going to be a lot of fun, but I also have something to admit...I’m a little nervous because I want to make friends there, but I’m not quite sure I know how to make friends.

You know what? I’ll be right back!! I’ll just ask our teacher! 

Wow! I learn so many great things from my teacher about how to make new friends! 

The first thing she taught me is to practice making friends in the mirror!

It sounds silly, but it really helps. 

She also told me that to make good friends, it’s important to be a good listener. 

Many people don’t want to be friends with people who just keep talking about themselves.  But, people love to have friends who understand them and listen. 

So, I practiced making friends by asking questions like,

What’s your favorite game? 

Did you do anything cool last weekend?

And... If you could only eat one food for a whole week, what would it be? 

Do you know what we’re having for lunch today? 

Then, listen carefully!!

My teacher also taught me that it’s important to read someone’s body language.

If someone doesn’t look at me, moves away from me, or doesn’t seem interested in talking to me, that’s okay and it’s not my fault!

I can just walk away and try to make another friend.  

Oh Bestie, I’m so excited to make new friends and now I feel like I know what to do!! 

Now, it’s time for your MISSION!!
